Stefano Rossi has recently won second prize at Vienna Caneres International Competition and received the Michael Beech prize for distinction in Conducting at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. In 2022 he won 4th prize (semifinalist) at Concorso Nino Rota Conducting competition in Matera.
 
Recently Stefano has been chosen with other few conductors by Figaro Opera Society in a high level opera Masterclass on Verdi ‘La Traviata” based in Venice. During this time he worked with Maestro Abzal Mukhitdin, principal conductor of the Astana opera theatre in Kazakhstan, Ramon Vargas, world renewed tenor and Barbara Frittoli, soprano. Stefano conducted the whole “La Traviata” among the two performances with Venice chamber orchestra and singers from the Masterclass in July 2019. In February 2019 Stefano has been appointed assistant conductor of Christopher Bucknall at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire at the production of the opera “Die Zauberflöte”, working together with the extraordinary director Michael Barry, from Royal opera house in London. 
Stefano Rossi has completed the Orchestra Conducting Postgraduate at the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, one of the finest Conservatoire facilities in United Kingdom. Among his current teachers are Daniele Rosina, principal teacher of Orchestral Conducting, Edwin Roxbourgh and Michael Seal, associate conductor of City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, with whom is collaborating in several Conservatoire projects. 
 
Stefano studied in Milan’s Conservatoire G. Verdi for eight years. He achieved the first oboe diploma (bachelor) with M° Diego Dini Ciacci at the age of twenty. He studied Composition and score reading with M° Irlando Danieli and M° Simone Fermani. 
 
In 2014 Stefano decided to apply to Sibelius Academy in Helsinki for the oboe master degree specialization reached in 2017. During this time he worked in orchestra for symphony programme and opera production with high quality guest teacher of the conducting class such as Jorma Panula, Mikko Frank, Hannu Lintu, Leif Segerstam, Sakari Oramo through several concerts and masterclasses. After the master degree Stefano is taking conducting masterclasses around Europe such as international masterclass Escorial with M° Jorma Panula, Malaga Philharmonic conducting course with M° Antonio Silva. International masterclass with M° Johannes Wildner with Berlin sinfonietta. Recently International Masterclass with Michalis Economou and Athens Philarmonik, Giuseppe Lanzetta and Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina.
